I love trees and I love to render them with feeling. This particular tree is rather poignant to me because it grows in Greenwood Cemetery just outside our family mausoleum and outside burial plots. My grandparents, great-grandparents, and other family beloved family members are buried there.
Established in 1838 in Brooklyn, N.Y., Greenwood is the oldest uban cemetery in the country. It has 478 acres and was designed by the same person who later designed Central Park. In early times, families used to spend their Sundays picnicking and strolling about the hills enjoying the breathtaking scenery. I've titled this painting, "Radiant Spring". - Jill Saur
